Donation FAQ
Not sure what to donate? Not sure how to donate? Here are some common questions about donating.
Do clothes have to be dry cleaned?
Clothing donations do not need to be dry cleaned as long as they are in good condition. If items are soiled or damaged, we recommend cleaning them prior to donation. While we are unable to provide damaged clothing directly to veterans, we can still accept these items, as they may be repurposed or otherwise utilized to support our mission.
What donations do you not accept?
For the safety and well-being of our veterans, we cannot accept clothing that may pose a health risk. Please do not donate items with: mold or mildew, excessive pet hair or other allergens, strong odors or contamination. We deeply appreciate your care in reviewing our donation guidelines before giving. This helps us ensure that every item we provide meets the highest standard of dignity and respect for those we serve.
How do I get my donation receipt?
If you made a donation, you can fill out a donation receipt form online in order to receive a donation receipt. Individual donation locations will not provide you with a donation receipt, only Save A Suit can provide donors with a receipt. You can request your clothing donation receipt using this link.
